(CNN) — Nick Kyrgios discharged Steve Johnson in straight sets in the very first round of the US Open, but it had been his remarks after the game that sparked controversy.
The controversial Australian was requested about the $113,000 good he received to an on-court outburst in the Southern and Western Open earlier this season in his press conference.
The 24-year-old landed himself in trouble when he smashed two rackets and known as umpire Fergus Murphy a”f***ing tool” after receiving a time violation.

“ATP’s fairly tainted anyway, so I’m not fussed about it at all,” Kyrgios told colleagues in New York of the handsome.
“Why are we talking about something that occurred three months ago when I just chopped up somebody [from the] first round of the US Open?”
The ATP Tour declined to comment when asked for a response by CNN.

Kyrgios again locked horns with the umpire — this time Britain’s James Keothavong — during his 6-3 7-6 6-4 defeat of Johnson once he whined spectators walking throughout his function.
Johnson requested Kyrgios when he was planning to”play f***ing tennis” since the pair changed ends at the second set, while the Australian faced Keothavong by inquiring why he was not”considering people coming on my first function ”

Before prevailing in a tie break in the second group, the game was evenly poised function upwards and on with Kyrgios 1-0.
Kyrgios, that hasn’t progressed beyond the third round at the US Open, next faces Frenchman Antoine Hoang.
“Steve is a hell of a player. He played well. I understood I had to serve well,” the world No. 30 said in his on-court meeting after the victory.
“I am just happy I got it done in 2 hours. Now maybe I can get into a pub and get some fantastic food.”
